Dramaturgy

A creative and clarifying voice to help guide your process.

Rosanna is a dramaturg with over 11 years of experience in writing, directing and devising. She trained at Trinity College Dublin in traditional theater, and at École Internationale de Théâtre Jaques Lecoq in Paris in both physical theater and devising techniques.

As a dramaturge, Rosanna can help by offering the following:

Feedback on scripts
Clarifying the arc of the story
Clarifying a dramatic rhythm for non-narrative work
Clarifying or developing tone and stage language
World building for fictional work
Research and development for historical work
Finding the bigger themes and questions
Creating a thematic structure for dance, circus and physical theater
Building a narrative for devised work
Supporting writer or directors in the rehearsal process
Creating prompts for rehearsals in a devising process to spark ideas

Rosanna also has a unique skill for writing twists the audience won’t see coming, which can be used either in a traditional murder mystery setting, or as a way to create powerful endings or sweet little surprises for the audience.

Rosanna runs dramaturgy sessions in Crag Pit Studios in Aldeburgh, Suffolk. The Studios have onsite accommodation, space to rehearse, tools workshop and some basic theatre tech such as lights, sound and a projector. It is perfect for R&D, rehearsals and table work. It is also in a location of stunning natural beauty and short walks to the sea, guaranteed to inspire creativity!
